Sit-down
1. Text of meditation: 1 Co 13: 4-8
“Love is always patient and kind; love is
never jealous; love is not boastful or conceited, it is never rude
and never seeks its own
advantage, it does not take offence or store up grievances. Love does
not rejoice at wrongdoings, but finds its joy in the truth. It is always
ready to make allowances, to trust, to hope and to endure whatever comes.
Love never comes to an end.”
2. Questions for the Sit-down:
We said “I will” to each other for the whole of life, and
we wanted to put God at the centre of our love. Our marriage is sacramental.
-
In
what way does that affect our daily life? Consider specific examples.
-
How
de we live out team life as a couple? In what way does it bring about
spiritual growth?
-
How do we pass on to those around us the good
news of Christian marriage and of the help provided by Teams? What resolutions
do we make for when we are back home?
3. Prayer of thanksgiving: Prayer of sending on a mission
God our Creator, you have shown us your goodness in abundance, and created
us in your image. You give us a full measure of your loveand in Jesus
you become God in us.You give us the fullness of your lifeand breathe
your Spirit in us.
We know that we are called to bring life to the worldAnd we consecrate
ourselves to our mission. We put ourselves at your service through serving
the Movement.
Make us able to share your creative love,by bringing your Word to the
world and in our homes.Teach us to listen and to be with Jesusin a deep
bond of love so that, in our work and in our Church communities, we may
be able to enrich creation by our workand serve others with compassion,
as did his disciples, and be witnesses of the beauty of God in our world.
Lord, affirm our resolution to progress in our rule of life;Inspire our
capacity to speak you name in our prayer as a couple and as family;Grant
that our desire to grow in intimacy with each other may grow.Help us
to persevere in our resolution to spend time on an annual retreat, and
open our hearts and mind to make our own each day your Word in Scripture.
May our lives reflect the spirit of Teamsand may our service in Teams
become an act of love for the whole world.
We make this prayer in union with Christ, our companion and Saviour, who
is God for ever and ever.Amen
