A team of Our Lady is a little community of the Church formed by 5 to 7 couples accompanied by a priest, who brings them doctrinal and spiritual support ; who place themselves under the protection of the Virgin Mary. The team is, itself, a cell of a larger community of married spirituality - the international movement of the Teams of Our Lady - within which the small team agrees to share the life, the spirit and the charter. The mutual help and fraternal love practised within the team helps couples, whose love is already sanctified by the sacrament of marriage, to grow in Christ and to put their love at the service of the Kingdom, making all of their activities a collaboration with the work of God and a service to humankind.
When the Charter of Teams of Our Lady was promulgated forty years ago, no one could foresee the changes which would occur in the Movement, the Church and the world. History may change, but the charism of Teams, the original spiritual gift, is still working through the signs of the times to inspire couples in the service of love. As you read these pages, we hope you will find new reasons to feel encouraged about the future of Teams, and that these and the suggestions for living out your aspirations within and for the Movement will fill you with the hope and vitality of a Second Wind.
By the grace and inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the renewal of the Movement carries on. Through prayer and reflection, the members of the International Leading Team and the Super-Regional Couples decided to produce a complete Guide on the Movement based on the richness of previous documents.
